EMANCIPATOR

Emancipator (Douglas Appling) is an American electronic music producer and DJ based in Portland, Oregon. A pioneer in the downtempo and trip-hop scenes, he is celebrated for blending lush, organic instrumentation—such as sweeping violins, acoustic guitars, and flutes—with clean, intricate hip-hop beats and atmospheric synths to create deeply emotional, cinematic soundscapes.
